Digital Product Owner
Windsor, Ontario, Canada


As a Digital Product Owner, you will report directly to our COO.  You are accountable for establishing a vision for the product iterations of the software side of our company.  You will be the voice of the client when establishing priorities, understanding the needs of various stakeholders (line of business, legal, risk, security, finance) and ensuring alignment across the product team for each iteration. You strive in collaborative environments and are able to balance assertion and patience along with perseverance.

  • Create and maintain a prioritized Product Backlog - Working with Stakeholders, analytics, and client feedback to develop a product vision that resolves our client’s problems or meets business objectives.
  • Create user stories and collaborate on product requirements - You will curate user stories in a collaborative fashion with business system analysts, design, editorial, project managers, technical consultants and various members of the product team.
  • Serve as the internal/external subject matter expert on the product – act as primary contact for product-related questions and present your product to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage each Iteration – You will manage to go to market/release plans, monitor scope/schedule/budget and ensure the best ROI on the development effort with the project manager and technical leads.
  • Validate - Ensure each iteration delivers expected results by working closely with the development team to define, design, accept and adapt features.

  • Work with both software/video game sides of the business
  • Will report directly to our C-Level staff
  • Serve as the voice of the client 
  • Work with internal and external customers to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
  • Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet software/game expectations
  • Collaborate with UI/UX team, product scrum team, and product leaders to establish timeline workflows and goals
  • Manage the product development team to create a strong end product
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
  • Extract and retrieve information and data sets to improve upon the software
  • Determine roadmaps for products in the creation phase
  • Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process
  • Schedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes for projects
  • Highlight product features in a manner clearly understandable to the development team
  • Manage and develop product backlog, as well as user stories backlog for implementation
  • Conduct backlog grooming meetings with a team of product owners
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Attend sprint planning and demo meetings to give feedback on sprint achievement, as well as to the scrum team
  • Monitor the progress of product development, as well as plan for product release
  • Contact customers and end-users to obtain information on expected product features
  • Provide reports to update management and stakeholders on product development operations
  • Analyze customer opinions and feedback to determine features or components that will add good value to a product
  • Participate in agile conferences and study relevant scrum material to update job knowledge/skill
  • Assess product value stream to identify areas that require improvements
  • Measure product performance as well as value delivered to clients in order to make adjustments where necessary
  • Develop and implement action plans for building and sustaining demand for a product
  • Ensure implemented product features add value to end-users and increase company returns.

  • 2 years of experience in product management as a Product Owner or Product Manager or in a product-related role within a development team
  • Strong background in usability with both game and software development/architecture
  • Experience working in a Lean/Agile environment with a focus on Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, computer science, information management systems or a closely related field
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) training an asset
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Team-first mentality

  • Ability to deliver solutions iteratively
